Create Your Own Happiness

Happiness is not a state of being, it is a state of mind. It’s the ability to take what life has given you and to personalize it in a way that benefits you. You have the ability to choose to be happy or choose to be unhappy. You can be an optimist and look at the bight side of things and always find the positive in any situation. This type of thinking will keep you happy. On the other hand, giving in to a low moment in your life and letting it affect your thoughts and mood can create a dark hole that can be difficult to come out of. You can create your own happiness by choosing to not give in to bad thoughts and finding and focusing on the good in life. Happiness is 100% mental. When you choose to expand your mind and to focus on the good, you will be happier.

Happiness can’t be measured on an equal scale. It is about perspective. It is different for everyone. What makes one person happy might be completely irrelevant to someone else. When you find what makes you happy, follow it. Do what ever you can to get it. Don’t loose sight of what makes you happy. It is important strive to be where you want to be in life and to live it to the fullest. Time spent being unhappy is time you could have spent being happy. “For every minute you are angry, you loose sixty seconds of happiness.” When a person is depressed they often miss out on many things and waste the days consumed in their negativity. Happy people are capable of creating memories and have more positive experiences and interactions with the world. You and only you can determine your happiness. It is always there to be found if you choose.

“Happiness is not determined by what’s happening around you, but rather what’s happening inside you. Most people depend on others to gain happiness, but the truth is, it always comes from within.” – Anonymous

“I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition.”– Martha Washington
